Recently invited to play with prestigious orchestras such as the Mariinsky Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev and the Orchestre National de Bordeaux-Aquitaine conducted by Paul Daniel, pianist Jean-Baptiste Fonlupt performs regularly in major festivals in France and in many countries such as Italy, Belgium, Germany, the United States, or South Korea. The Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Auditorium de Bordeaux, the Beijing Forbidden City Concert Hall as well as many venues in China, the Salamanca Hall in Japan, the Mariinsky Theater in Saint-Petersburg, and the Simon Bolivar Concert Hall in Caracas welcomed him.
His recordings include various composers, from Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach to Franz Liszt piano works, amongst them recordings dedicated to Frederic Chopin, Robert Schumann and recently a disc dedicated to Ballet music with works by Stravinsky, Prokofiev and Ravel. His recordings have won the best awards in French and foreign music magazines, including a Diapason d'Or for the record Ballets, and are regularly broadcast on radio.
Former student of Bruno Rigutto at the CNSMD in Paris, of Michael Endres at the Hochschule Hanns Eisler in Berlin and of Elisso Virssaladze at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, he currently teaches at the CRR in Rueil-Malmaison in France and at the Institute of Music and Pedagogy of Namur in Belgium.
